Since you purchased your RV, you may have added custom equipment that did not come from the RV manufacturer. Examples include flooring, furniture, cabinetry and more. In the event of a total loss, this upgraded equipment would be expensive to replace.
The definition of a “Custom Equipment Upgrade” is as follows: The cost of any equipment, designs or improvements made a permanent part of “your covered auto” after its original manufacture, including, without limitation, any murals, accessories, options, upgrades, or additional equipment as evidenced by proper proof of purchase.
Keep in mind that an “upgrade” refers to an improvement or addition made to the RV after manufacture. Replacing items with another of like quality due to its failure is considered maintenance, and is not an upgrade. For example, replacing an awning with another of the same type, function and dimensions is not an upgrade. Replacing an awning with one that improves its function, type, or size would be an upgrade.
Custom equipment can include, but is not limited, to:
LCD HD televisions – the bigger the better and everywhere!
Audio video components – all types, but especially surround sound systems
Satellite systems – for televisions and radios
Motorization – window blinds, sofas, almost anything
Back-up cameras and monitors
GPS
Appliances – convection ovens, dishwashers, washer/dryers
Computer centers
Ceiling fan
